Music Together goes far beyond the classroom experience. Its wealth of engaging songs and activities serve as a springboard for spontaneous music play at home, empowering families and filling their daily lives with musical joy.
The ten-week session* of 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and enjoyable for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability. *Summer sessions are 6 weeks in length.

Mixed Ages (age 0-5)
Big Kids (age 5-7)
What do all Music Together classes feature...
All classes explore the beauty of music through rhymes, singing, playing instruments and moving to the music. Each class includes:
• A fully trained, registered Music Together teacher leading groups of six to twelve children and their grownups in music and movement experiences.
• Ten weekly classes offering a dozen songs and rhythmic rhymes, including fingerplays, small and large movement activities, and instrument play. (Summer session is 6 weeks only.)
• Flexible lesson plans giving participants opportunities to create and improvise: making up new words to songs, offering movement ideas, making silly sounds, and sharing music ideas from the family's play at home.
• A research-based curriculum which develops music skills; nurtures creativity, self-expression, and confidence; and provides social, emotional, cognitive, and physical developmental benefits.
• A relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented classroom setting that respects and supports the unique learning styles, developmental levels, and temperaments of all participants, creating a strong sense of community.
• At-home materials which include two CD's and a songbook for each semester, a parent guide and DVD.
What makes each class different...

Mixed Ages (Birth to Kindergarten) The Mixed Ages class is for children ages birth to kindergarten. Because music development is not directly tied to chronological development, children are able to develop at their own pace as well as learn from and model for other children. The grouping is also perfect for siblings to make music together. Mixed Ages classes are 45 minutes in length.

Big Kids (ages 5-7) In addition to the above description of 'What all classes have in common,' Big Kids class is for the 5-7 year old child who is developmentally ready for more pre-music literacy, turn-taking, and working together at group games. The 60-minute class incorporates musical games, singing in harmony, improvisation, small group work, drumming, conducting, and eurhythmics--musical movement games. Big Kids can stand alone as a class that further develops a child's innate musicality or it can also beautifully compliment private instrument study. (Tuesdays at 5:15).
